Area residents have received further assurance: If you want the best heart care, to Borgess Medical Center.
When the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association (AHA/ASA) lists hospitals earning awards for its Get with the Guidelines-TM program in US News & World Report later this year, Borgess Medical Center will be among the few hospitals receiving the highest level award – Gold – for heart failure.
The AHA/ASA scrutinizes a hospital’s care to determine whether it is using the best methods possible.
“Get with the Guidelines is designed to ensure that hospitals consistently care for cardiac and stroke patients following the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations,” according to the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association.
“The Get with the Guidelines program empowers healthcare teams to save lives and reduce healthcare costs by helping hospitals follow evidence-based guidelines and recommendations,” the AHA/ASA adds.
The Borgess Heart Failure Program has been awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval-TM, in addition to earning this national recognition from the AHA/ASA. The Borgess Heart Failure Program helps enhance patients’ quality of life by teaching them to manage their disease while remaining active and enjoying independence at home.
